Solara Soma is a Fort Worth-based low-tox home, body, refill, and wellness shop created to make healthier, more intentional living feel accessible, practical, and culturally familiar.

I grew up in a low-income Mexican American family, where what we ate, cleaned with, put on our bodies, and kept in our homes often came down to what was affordable, available, and familiar. As I got older—and especially through my own chronic illness journey—I began paying much closer attention to ingredients, supplements, household products, wellness practices, and the ways our everyday environment can affect how we feel.

That journey also made me realize how disconnected much of the modern wellness world can feel from communities like mine. Healthy living is often presented as expensive, complicated, or something reserved for people who already know all the right terminology.

I want Solara Soma to help bridge that gap.

I’m bilingual in English and Spanish, and part of my mission is to make low-tox living, wellness education, refill culture, and practical everyday swaps more approachable for mi gente and for anyone who has ever felt left out of the wellness conversation.

Solara Soma is also part of my own reconnection with my family’s roots in Tirímacuaro, Michoacán, México. Long before “organic,” “sustainable,” and “low-tox” became wellness trends, many of our families lived naturally closer to the land—growing food, using herbs and plants, reusing what we had, wasting less, and working with simple ingredients because that was simply part of everyday life.

For me, this isn’t about perfection or replacing everything in your home overnight.

It’s about remembering what worked, learning something new, and making small choices that fit your real life.

You can come here because you need a better laundry detergent. You can come because you’re curious about refilling. You can come to learn, make something, attend a workshop, or simply connect with people who are trying to live a little more intentionally.

Meet the Founder

I’m Juan Suarez, founder of Solara Soma. My professional background is in social work and mental health, and my personal journey has led me deeper into holistic wellness, low-tox living, herbs, community education, and reconnecting with cultural traditions.

Solara Soma brings all of those pieces together: professional knowledge, lived experience, cultural roots, curiosity, and the belief that wellness should feel accessible to ordinary families—not exclusive.

Wellness should feel possible. It should feel welcoming. And sometimes, it should even feel like coming home.
